Online Learning for Early Childhood Professionals

Check out these new online course options offered through the Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) Network office: Supporting Families Together Association, available at all 10 CCR&R network agencies.   • Strengthening Families™ Through Early Care and Education (Childcaring, Inc.)

    In this 3-hour training, participants will learn about the 5 protective factors which are demonstrated to strengthen family function. They will also be able to identify at least three next steps that they can take following the training to build protective factors within their early care and education setting and available resources to implement ideas. Participants will also be able to identify Strengthening Families™ resources. Mandated reporter training is included.

    • This course is self-paced for participants to complete within a 7-day period.
    • Participants will earn 3 hours of Registry approved continuing education hours.
    • All participants will receive an email from UW-Platteville prior to the course start date to obtain login information and a password.

    Learning Objectives:

    • Learn about the five protective factors that strengthen family function
    • Identify three next steps to build protective factors in early care and education settings
    • Understand how to obtain and use Strengthening Families™ resources

    The Strengthening Families™ initiative is a strength-based approach to preventing child abuse and neglect. Strengthening Families™ is a Center for the Study of Social Policy initiative that uses research-based evidence to determine what factors really reduce child abuse and neglect. This training explores the connection between factors that prevent child abuse and neglect and what quality early childhood programs can do to support them. This course is self-paced for participants to complete within a 7-day period. Participants will earn 3 hours of Registry approved continuing education hours.
