Online Learning for Early Childhood Professionals

Check out these new online course options offered through the Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) Network office: Supporting Families Together Association, available at all 10 CCR&R network agencies.   • Strengthening Families in ECE – ONLINE (ChildCaring)

    This course is self-paced for participants to complete within a 7-day period. All participants will receive an email from UW-Platteville   prior to the start date to obtain login information and a password.

    Cost: $20

    The Strengthening Families initiative is a strength-based approach to preventing child abuse and neglect. Strengthening Families is a Center for the Study of Social Policy (CSSP) initiative that looks at the evidence to find out what factors really reduce child abuse and neglect.

    This training makes the connections between the factors that prevent child abuse and neglect and the strategies that quality early childhood programs can use to build them up.

    The Strengthening Families Initiative is a strength-based approach to preventing child abuse and
    neglect. Strengthening Families comes from the Center for the Study of Social Policy and looks at
    the evidence to find out what factors really reduce child abuse and neglect. This training makes
    connections between the factors that prevent child abuse and neglect and the strategies that
    quality early childhood programs can use to build up and support families.

    Each participant needs their own email address for course access.

    LEARNING OBJECTIVES
    ▪ Learn about the five protective factors that strength family function.
    ▪ Identify three next steps to build protective factors in early care and education settings.
    ▪ Understand how to access and use Strengthening Families resources.
    ▪ Complete the Mandated Reporter Training.

    When: February 20th-26th (course access starts and ends at midnight)
    Where: Online course, you can complete it anywhere you have internet access
