Trainers and consultants at each of the Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies (CCR&Rs) have a wide variety of early care and education expertise that they can personalize to programs, organizations, and communities statewide to meet your needs. CCR&R trainers meet the Wisconsin Registry Professional Development Approval System requirements for training and consultation.

The CCR&Rs offer trainings in-person, virtually, and online through ECExplorer. Some CCR&Rs offer correspondence training opportunities. Trainings offered by the CCR&Rs can be found on the Wisconsin Registry Training Calendar or by clicking on the agency name below.

ECExplorer Online Learning
ECExplorer (Brightspace) is the Learning Management System used by the CCR&Rs for online learning. This platform allows participants to learn and complete courses where and when convenient for them during the defined time frame. A training facilitator is assigned to each class. The training facilitator will monitor course progress, discussions, and grade assignments.

When you sign up for a course through one of the CCR&R’s you will receive an email from System-No Reply as shown below with the name of the training in the subject line.

The email will include a link for you to access the course directly along with your username. If this is the first time you have accessed ECExplorer you will need to reset your password once logged in. If you have previously taken a course on ECExplorer, you can use the same username and password. If you have problems accessing the course, please email your training facilitator.

- Behavior Help Wisconsin
- Behavior Help Wisconsin is a program that helps early childhood care and education providers who feel challenged by the behavior of a child. Behavior Help Coaches provide one-on-one coaching to the child’s parents/guardians and care provider to equip you with tools, knowledge, and skills to reduce challenging behaviors and promote positive ones
- Behavior Help Wisconsin is currently a pilot program operating only in certain areas of the state (Chippewa, Dane, Dunn, Eau Claire, and St. Croix counties, and Milwaukee zip codes 53204, 53206, 53210, 53215, 53218). If you are not located in a pilot area, you can receive alternative support from your local Child Care Resource & Referral Agency (CCR&R).
- Strengthening Diverstiy – Professional Development Minis
- Ready-to-go professional development opportunities that can be completed in 30 mintues to an hour. They have been specifically designed for teams but can aslo be modified to use for personal reflection and growth. Early childhood professionasl and those working with young children and families are teh intended audience, although any group could benefit from these discussions.
- Abusive Head Trauma Prevention Training of Trainers
- For those individuals who have previously completed an AHT Prevention Training and are interested in training others
- Breastfeeding Friendly Child Care Online Training
- This training supports the efforts of the Wisconsin Breastfeeding Friendly Child Care Initiative and builds on the information provided in the Ten Steps to Breastfeeding Friendly Child Care Centers Resource Kit. The training is appropriate for both family and group child care programs. It explains the importance of breastfeeding support in the child care setting and describes how providers can implement policies and practices to best serve their families.

- Expectations for what the workforce should know (content) and be able to do (skills) in a respectful & competent manner (attitudes) in their roles working with and/or on behalf of children & their families. The Core Competencies are organized under 12 Content Areas.
- National Afterschool Association Core Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies for OST Professionals (CKSCs)
- Outlines what professionals who work with and for youth need to know, show, and grow to positively impact young people and the field. The CKSCs can be used across organizations, programs, and funding streams to define what it takes to work with and for children and youth. They can also guide the development of compensation structures, inclusive and culturally responsive hiring practices, professional development (PD) and PD plans, career pathways, credentials and qualifications, and mechanisms for demonstrating and assessing practitioner’s skills.
