Biography

Amanda Austin has over 30 years of experience in the Early Care and Education Field. Early in her career, Amanda worked directly with children, infants through school-age, and families in group child care programs. After having her first child, Amanda was fortunate to be able to use her skills and knowledge to open and operate a family child care program. Amanda transitioned to a role with 4-C, Madison as an Early Childhood Specialist. While in this role, she provided technical assistance as a YoungStar Coach and Training for Early Care Professionals.

In 2016, Amanda accepted a position with Supporting Families Together Association as an Environment Rating Scale (ERS) observer. Amanda was reliable and utilized ECERS-R, ITERS-R, FCCERS-R, and SACERS-U to complete observations and provide feedback to programs around quality practices. Amanda was part of the team from Wisconsin to field test and provide data for the Third Edition of the Family Child Care Environment Rating Scale. In her current role as the Professional Development Specialist, Amanda works closely with the nine Child Care Resource and Referral agencies to support and develop quality training for Early Care and Education Professionals. Amanda has a passion for life long learning and supporting the adults who care for children.
