Biography
Julie Walter has 30 years of experience working in the Education and Family Support field ranging from working with families and young children through the public schools to universal primary prevention services. Julie has worked as a parent educator and Executive Director for a Family Resource Center and Child Care Resource and Referral Agency, as well as a primary school teacher and administrator in the public schools for over 15 years. Her more recent work has primarily focused on strengthening agencies and staff offering universal prevention services, such as local Family Resource Centers (FRCs), in providing high quality services to ensure families throughout Wisconsin have access to supports and services.
While at SFTA, Julie has written and administered trainings around Play Group Facilitation and Parent Leadership. Julie oversees several Community of Practices and is a certified trainer in Standards of Quality for Family Strengthening and Support, Parent Leadership the Key to a Successful FRC, Play Group Facilitation, ASQ-3, ASQ-SE2, Stewards of Children, Bringing the Protective Factors Framework to Life in Your Work, Awareness to Action, and Positive Solutions for Families. She is a Level 16 trainer for the Wisconsin Registry. Julie is also trained in Parent Café’s and Triple P Primary Care and Seminar.
